How it began
Where the Forest Remembers began with a simple fascination with the quiet power of the woodland — the feeling that forests hold memories of everything that has passed through them.
The first paintings emerged around the stag: ancient, watchful and almost otherworldly. I wanted to capture more than the animal itself. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing in a forest and sensing that you are not quite alone.
Each stag became a character in that imagined woodland — carrying its own presence, its own story and its own silence.
The textured backgrounds, shadows and flashes of gold became part of that world, creating the feeling of something ancient hidden beneath the surface.
What began as a small collection of stag paintings has grown into a continuing journey through an imagined forest, where every painting reveals another fragment of its story.
